Overview

Super duplex stainless steel with tungsten and copper additions for superior corrosion resistance in the most demanding environments. Higher PREN (≥40) than 2205 with improved performance in hot chloride, sulfuric acid, and sour service. The tungsten addition enhances pitting resistance, while copper provides resistance to sulfuric acid. A direct competitor to 2507 with slightly different optimized properties.

Corrosion Resistance

Excellent resistance to pitting (PREN ≥ 40) and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. Good resistance to sulfuric acid at low concentrations — the copper addition provides a unique advantage over 2507 in this area. Outstanding performance in sour gas (H₂S) environments with NACE MR0175 compliance. Superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Tungsten addition enhances localized corrosion resistance.
